This is my collection of articles that will show you how to fix
common (and not so common) problems on the Mk1 Volkswagen Rabbit. This
page will also serve as a home for automotive repair practices that are
not Mk1 specific, and will be updated on a regular basis as time permits

Winter here, it's usually too cold to work on the car...what ever shall I do?
Nerd-Time! I'm pleased to announce that mk1ultra.com is alive and well as of today!
Sorry we've been gone (again) I moved out to the country, my internet sucks, and I haven't had the time to secure a host and upload the site till now. Won't happen again, I promise =D

To all who have tried to access the site over the last few months: I am terribly sorry we've been away for so long. Life on the murder scene has been rather interesting around here as of late.
I've had problems with the internet, a fried battery backup on the server, spend most of the last few months out of town, and that doesn't even count what I've had to do to the Rabbit. With any luck, tonight will mark the end of a one-month downtime on the car *crosses fingers*
Ever pull into work on a Sunday morning and feel compelled to look under the front of the VW for no reason? I did. Good thing I looked...a thick, steady stream of gear oil was pouring out of the bell housing! I've spent an entire month (most of which was wasted either waiting for parts or dealing with setbacks) of swapping out my (now) useless four speed for the five speed in the shed, re-sealing the injection pump, changing a wheel bearing, and many other parts besides. With any luck, she'll be on the road again tonight....
Thank you for your patience, I'll do my best not to allow such down-time in the future.
~Jon
