I'm Currently a web development and programming student by day and nearly-full-time Parts Specialist at one of the large auto parts chains by night. This site was created out of love for tinkering with computers and cars.;
As long as I can remember, I've always loved diesel engines (Big truck/tractor pulling fan). Since I was 10 or so I've always wanted a Volkswagen Rabbit diesel, love the look of the little critters (love the black smoke too).;
In June of 2009, I acquired my 1984 Rabbit L diesel. I love the bloody thing!; Being the motor head that I am, modifications started the same month. In my previous life as the owner of a 1989 F350 diesel, I was an active member in the Ford-Trucks.com forum and posted a few tech articles of my current blog/first website DynamicIdentity.us .
In my research of MK1 VWs, it soon became apparent to me that the online community for the rabbit was significantly smaller than that of my 7.3L IDI powered Ford.; After a couple months of Rabbit ownership, I felt the need to create a one-stop resource for all of the invaluable information I found scattered all over the internet.
I hope that Mk1Ultra.com will, in some way, make the life of fellow Volkswagen enthusiasts easier, and provide a means of sharing information and ideas about some of the best cars ever made.
